Diesel Lancer?

Postby pjcalder » Mon Apr 25, 2011 1:28 pm

Anyone seen this?

Be interesting to see whether it comes to Australia and how much it would cost...would be good for the fuel economy - 5.3L/100km.

Yeah Phil its a euro only thing I think...
And I think Rahul is right, I remember it being a VW diesel.

I think the old one is a 1.6 though. It was purely an economy engine. This new one sounds like it will be pretty comparable to the 4b11 just with better fuel economy if you don't mind sounding like a truck :P
0-100 in 9.9 is a tiny bit faster than the 4b11 official figures actually.

However I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't come here, nobody buys diesels in Australia for some reason...

I'd rather a 6 speed for the petrol instead, but I wont buy another CJ so it doesn't affect me :)

More low-end torque would be a great thing with a diesel.

Old engine was 2.0 VW TDI turbo diesel, which sounded like tractor
New engine is 1.8 Mitsubishi common rail turbo diesel, which is really new development by Mitsubishi

Ahh I must have been thinking about the 1.8L and 1.5L petrols they have over there.
