Car body work shops around Brisbane?

Postby Alileighju » Sun Jan 16, 2011 12:18 pm

Hi CCJ,

Can any of you guys from Brisbane recommend any good car body work shops in Brisbane?

I live in the Logan area so you guys know any close to that area?

I got my red VRX last week and my first mod will be blacking out the front bumper. Do you guys also know any good car sign writers in Brisbane?

Would it be best to buy the vinyl from the sign writer or order one from one of the guys on CCJ like I've read on one of the previous forums?

I will be looking at getting new rims in future as well as an alloy fuel door, interior LED lighting and a rear diffuser (Talon).

Thanks :)

Ali.

Hello, im not familar with brisbane so i'll skip that :P but as for the blackout vinyl, we have a sponsor who sells pre-cut and ready to go vinyl for a very good price.

Check it out here http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?t=3358
Red goes faster. MUCH faster.

By the way, thanks for the info Envoke.

Hi Just1more, Did you buy your car from Springwood Mitsubishi? That's where I got mine from.

What extras did you get on your aspire?
And what mods are you thinking about getting?

I got my new VRX for $28500. MY11 automatic in red.

I managed to get a reverse camera, mats, personalised plates and a free tank of fuel in that price. A good deal!

$30K for the aspire.. S'wood Mitsu as well :)

I got mats, front bumper cover, hard boot liner, parcel net, parking sensors and a tank of fuel... But not all for free lol. Oh and then I got suckered into the fusion protection thingy (was going to get it aftermarket anyway, would have been much cheaper... They saw me coming haha).

My first mods will be debadge (lancer and aspire), alloy fuel door, install baby car seat lol

Then scuff plates, maybe a front v lip? Rear air dam, maybe a seatback DVD player for the little fella, maybe parking camera, painting the Mitsu logos on the wheels (have to decide on my contrast colour...) black or chrome out the front bumper... Maybe gas struts for the bonnet.

I want to do a basic automotive course at tafe or something so I can understand how everything works a bit better before doing performance mods (if I get that far).

Haha and win the lotto somewhere along the way to help pay for it all.

How about you, what are you planning?

That's a pretty good price! Was it that grey demo aspire in the middle of the showroom? I had a peek inside it when I was paying for my car last Wednesday and the inside looked soooo nice! All leather!

I'm looking into a rear diffuser and alloy fuel door as well.

Check out Talon's diffuser:

http://www.talonbodystyling.com.au/bodykit/mitsubishi/mitsubishi_lancer_cj_sedan_07_vrx.htm

It looks really nice, almost looks like it counteracts the lancer's high rear.

Spring wood Mitsu installed the Auto Extreme reverse camera in my car and it's pretty good. The mirror + LCD screen is bigger than the stock one (inside my glove box) but it is really dark and at night it is hard to see cars behind you (their headlamps are just 2 weak lights in the reflection) I suppose I won't be having the problem of people blinding me with their high beams

I will be looking at getting new rims, mud flaps, front blackout vinyl, alloy fuel door, interior LEDs, and maybe the TALON rear diffuser. Mostly mitsubishi accessories. Oh and also painting my calipers red.

Ooh I really like that talon one, it does balance the end nicely.

My aspire better not be the demo lol or they are going to have to chuck in more free stuff cause they sold it to me as brand new. I actually preferred the look of the vrx, but I have a one year old so I need leather or he will wreck the interior ;)

I think I want to paint my calipers too, but again I have to decide on a contrast colour to stick with (red, blue, green or orange)... Have to wait til I get it to see what goes best.

I can see myself getting a bit carried away with this stuff haha.

The aspire in the middle of the Springwood Mitsubishi showroom was a demo so you probably bought a different one. I had to wait a few weeks because they shipped mine from Melbourne but 30k is a fantastic price for a brand new aspire!
