painting headlights

Postby timdawes » Fri Nov 11, 2011 1:56 pm

anyone done it on here? i want to do my VRX headlights black, i'd just like to be able to suss out if it's worth the effort given there isn't *that* much silver in there (i do want to get rid of the orange bit, this isn't america, i don't need it :D)

the end car looks like they've done it although i could be wrong...

Nope end car is VRX_Pete's and that is tint film on the headlight not paint.

to paint them you will need to bake or BBQ your headlight to open them up, paint then reseal.

ahhhh. yeh i didn't want to tint, altho it looks nice haha. i just figured i don't want people hassling me for having illegal headlights.

i knew it was the baking option, it's just a lot of messing around if there's not much i'll be painting. will probably do it anyway. maybe tint as well...

Def is better with tint film than to paint them!
And if you don't like it or you got over it you just remove the tint and is back like new, but if you paint them ...

did you tint the indicator? it looks the same black as the rest of the headlight.

it certainly looks better without the orange bit on the side of the headlight. that's my most hated thing on it

a friend did his and the easiest way instead of baking (risk of melting whole head light) is to get ur blow dyer and some coins (used to hold it open) and melt bits at a time and open it that way

only problem with opening it is if u dont seal it properly ur head light will fog up or water gets in
