I think smoked headlights (and taillights) are illegal in all states due to ADRs. As for LED tail lights, you might be a bit hard pressed to find something for a "vintage" vehicle, considering LEDs have become cheap and mainstream only in the last few years....

Actually, I stand corrected smoked LED tail lights should be fine. Not the headlights (I'm pretty sure of that). I'm, glad to be proven wrong on that. :)

i think you will find that having smoked headlights is only illegal at night. you dont use then during the day, so they wouldn't be illegal. but at night they need to be able to put out there proper light output. so it would be illegal. as for taillights. some LED taillights like the ones for CJ lancers come smoked have a E mark, and are legal, where as having ones that are smoked after or are not E marked. are illegal.

as for the headlight smoking, dont take my word for it. if you really want the smoked headlight look buy some headlight protectors and smoke them, so they are removable when its nighttime.

might b partial incorrect in some cases.. i was pulled over for having smoked headlight b4 on late arvo eventho still bright..
because our indicators are on headlight, it makes it illegal..
shouldnt have anythin blocking lights as what they told me..
...I miss having my tinted heads...
