Used some side emitting LED strips for the Audi/Mercedes design DRL's.

Cos they are side emitting i can hide them under the lip of the bumper above the foglights. & When the Chrome Fog Rings come it.... :)

Some Crappy Photos, more to come. Looks amazing at night! :)

LOL - isn't the D in DRL for daylight?? hahah, jks jks

I have been wanting to do this for a long time as well - might be the right product! Can you tell us where you got them and how you wired them up - do they come on with ignition or need the park lights on?

I have been waiting for Hella to release their LEDay Flex range in Aus, but even their office here doesn't know how long it will be :(.

Do you think much of their luminosity is lost facing downwards in the day... because the D-in-the-DRL as was mentioned earlier is for Day.. Nighttime they would be classed like fogs or spots and would irritate others, no?

How bright are they in the daylight?

no luminosity is lost. they are angled downwards, which hides the actual strip, but they are side emiting which means the angle becomes perfect. In the day when switched off you cannot see them but as soon as they are on they light up perfectly. As for irritation, they are the same as having your parking light LEDs on.

I will try and answer everyones questions...if i miss one plz feel free to ask again!

Actually the Luminosity isn't at all effected because they are side emitting LED strips. They are facing down but the light is shining out.

They aren't glarey at all at night, did a test with a few mates getting them to drive behind to see if it bothered them. None of them were effected.

Bright enough in the day time. Bout equivalent to the AUDI/Merc Lights.'

ATM got them connected to the parking lights so they come on together.
When i get some time this week im gonna put a switch in, so they still come on with parking lights but i can turn them off and on. That allows me to put the fogs on if needed and turn them off. The other reason i wired to the Parking lights was so that if i forget to turn off the lights they will go off with the Parkers Automatically.

Nice on black cars. Did you ever try it from the bottom of the fog light thing? It looks like it not long enough for the top but these things stick out during the day. After exhaust might look into that headlight thing
