Hey guys, today my parker light decided to die on me, i had spare LED lights that worked so i changed both sides
after seeing the difference in brightness at night im keen to do LEDs for low and high beam, ive seen the bulb list that Zero put together, but im struggling to find the right bulbs with half decent product reviews. - all the good ones are either wrong size or 100/160w
i found one for the low beam on ebay but looked dodge as hell.
Anyone else done the LEDs? or if anyone knows of where to get them on a slight budget? and any addition info, such as if i need resistors etc.
Thanks in advance

LED globes apart from physically being too big to fit in the headlamps do not work with halogen reflectors. You will find they will be worse than the halogen globes. Also I believe it is illegal to retro fit LEDs to standard headlight.

does this mean all aftermarket full LED headlight units aren't legal?
As an aside, how about rear, tail lights! There certainly are some great looking ones!!!

No I'm only talking about putting LED globes in halogen reflectors. I would think a purpose built LED headlamp would be OK as long as they are ADR approved.

Probably the best idea,a good set of halogen globes is your best bet

LED bulbs in low/high beam are illegal unless the car came fitted with them from factory or the headlight unit has been replaced with an ADR approved headlight, they are in the same class with the HID's

They should be OK

I've used LED in the parkers for over 2 years, since they are not a projected light they are fine but it is weird we haven't seen more use of them in headlights considering many now opt for a LED based spot light or light bar instead of traditional spot lights.

Parkers are fine as they don't have the mirror in the back of the bulb to reflect the light on the road

Possibly a stupid question but would the same regulations apply for putting LED's in tail lights

No,you can fit LED tail light globes but you will have to fit resistors to the globes. This will ensure your cruise control will still work and the indicators flash at the required speed.
