Ok not sure about every state but you are allowed grill lighting. However they can't be:

- Red or Blue especially if you have them on when driving. If your parked its still a bit iffy. I'd steer clear of red or blue.
- They can't be forward facing lights.
- They can't be flashing or changing colours while driving.

Also just using common sense avoid trying red or blue and certainly don't get red and blue flashing.

I've driven past/behind numerous cops including highway patrol with green and purple grill LEDs without any problems.

If you watch the video on of the setting is red/blue from side to side.

Don't need big flashing 'pull me over' lights on the front of your car I guess, maybe if I had a Trans Am LOL

Yeah I would definitely stay away from flashing as it can be perceived as a distraction for other drivers. Regular grill lights can be a head Turner though.
