Hey just wanting to know if someone has ever tried mounting a 42" LED light bar on the roof racks of their lancer? I didn't just want to go the normal rout and upgrade bulbs and be disappointed by the small increase in visibility. So I'm planing to hook up some LEDs and have a bit of a unique look, what's everyone's thoughts?

Not sure how legal they are, you only see them on 4x4s for off road use.
On the other had putting a red brake light one on the back should be perfectly legal.

Don't do it. All it will do is light up the inside of the cabin. Put it at the front of the car

Yeah theres that also, like I said on 4x4 they are used off road, plus most have less slop on the windscreen so less likely to light up your cabin.

after doing some research look like its quite illegal... so i have purchased a 20 inch LED light bar to fit behind the grill with two extra spot lights to fit next to the Mitsubishi badge. ill start a new post and put up some pictures of the process and the end product

Yes it can be far cheaper to and easier to upgrade the headlight globs in a modern car.
That said if you want to make a rally look Lancer it would be so cool if you could get a rally style cluster that goes on the leading edge of the bonnet. Not sure if it would be very practical but it would stand out when driving around.

Hi there! I want tp install such a light bar on mine. I've got it from
ledoutfitters store. (By the way, which brand is yours from?) I don't exactly know how to properly install it, so I need some guidance, especially with wiring. I hope, you guys will help me

you should wire it off your high beams and maybe an added switch too
if you add a switch you can have the light bar not turn on everytime you use your high beams

Its illegal your not allowed to have lightbars mounted on roof racks. Theres a road authority photo floating around that shows where you can mount them. Its pretty much only under the bullbar. Has to be inline or lower then your driving lights. Cant have them mounted even on the top bar of your bullbar. Also wire them to a seperate switch not your highbeams. If your driving in the city sometimes you will encounter a dark street where I flick on my highbeams dont be the bloke who floods the street with light and blinds other drivers.
For wiring if your deadset on hooking up to highbeams: Use a threeway switch. Take a constant +12VDC from the battery or behind the key barrel and that goes to the bottom or top terminal of the switch. Take the highbeam voltage wire and put it on the top/bottom terminal of the switch. Then the positive wire from the light bar goes to the middle terminal of the switch. The negative from the light bar just goes to a constant -12VDC like the battery.

That way you can have it on with the switch, off or on with the highbeams.

Auxiliary lights (except fog lights) must extinguish when high beam is turned off. They must have a switch so they can be switched on/off.Simply put they can only come on when high beam is on and must turn off when low beam is selected.
