Hey everyone ive been looking at the HID kits on ebay for my 08 es and was hoping someone could help me pick the best or even give any bad experiences they have had ?

Please dont buy hids unless you have projectors. You will blind everyone on the road if you install them in reflector housings.

Whenever I see a car driving with HIDs in reflectors behind me, I'll slow down and let them pass me, then I turn on ALL My lights (head/high/foggies) behind them.

I've had two cars so far slow down and ask me what's going on, I tend to ask them what's wrong? My 3 lights all being on is NOWHERE close to how blinding their HIDs in reflectors are doing my head in... .

HID arnt as bad as you guys are making it out to be, you can get 35w ones, people who get 55w or the 75w then thats stupid, but i know of a couple of people running 35w hid and they arnt blinding or nothing just a nice bright light and not irritating in the rear view

Bonnie - I would suggest you buy some 4500K PIAA Halogen bulbs instead. It is the best 'white' light you can get for a Halogen bulb, and will give you a far superior viewing distance for your light output....

I agree 100% with Ofey. Even worse in a jacked up 4WD who thinks he's the best on the road..... following 2m behind you.

Ricky - Yes, that may be the best solution for using HID's in reflector (halogen designed) housings - but unfortunately, that is only a very small percentage of the people out there... Most match the 55w or 75w they have already, and that's where it all goes wrong.

IMO - Better to spent $3-400 and get a proper set of projector housing front headlights, and then get some HID's - that's my plan anyway.

Hey Ricky, I can tell you depending on the headlight it may be ok, how the reflector is shaped, is it frosted, are they using a higher kelvin temp with the bulbs... etc.

But for the CJ lancers I can tell you it is bright even 35w and even with 8000k temp (as a rule higher the colour temp, less the brightness) . Possibly aiming as low as possible can help. But in my opinion a no no.

Irving ever heard of road rage? I tend to be a passive driver and never try to instigate any trouble, things are too crazy these days out on the road.

Having said that I'm sure you can find some nice HID lancer headlights on eBay

you can get DEPO replica lancer projector headlight housing for about $400 on ebay. all you need then are the HID's i guess and you should be alright. wouold solve the problem of the light going everywhere and blinding everyone

Tested the US version, just so you know slightly wired differently and cut-off is opposite, not really desirable for oncoming traffic here. Still possible to use, just hope there isn't any warranty issues though.

There is NO cheap fix for this.If you are going to do it then do it properly with the correct type of headlights,headlight washers and self levelling adjustment.Don't go sticking HID setups into ordinary headlamps.......all you do is make a nuisance of youself to other road users.

The Depo projector headlights are still only suitable for halogen bulbs, they do not self level and do not have shields to do high/low beam with one bulb like the OEM ones do and the projector lenses are different

if youz dont like them then you dont like them, not like youll ever see them in my car lol. and plus im happy with them beats buying aftermarket lights for no reason or to make other people happy, lol f that,

but if someone was to have 55w or 75w on low beam, then yes that person is an idiot and would be way to bright,
