Headlight Leveling - Wiring loom
Hi guys i bought some oem projectors fitted with leveling motors and comes bundled with the leveling switch for an extra 150 ill add, and in my hast i overlook the fact the my ralliart doesnt have the 3 wires in the headlight connection needed for the levelling motor to function, has anyone managed to get it to work in a lancer that didnt come with the older harness?
So from what I understand you only need three wires. One for the Motor Drive, one for Voltage Comparison, and one for Ground. Ground is easy enough, but the other two are where it gets tricky. You should be able to get the wire for the "Motor Drive Circuit" on Pin 5 of C-130, and the one for the "Voltage Comparison Circuit" on Pin 3 of C-131. I'm assuming these are blanked out/not available to you.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I believe in Australia the leveling motor will not work on Lancers as we are missing all the sensors/wiring on the car. Though you can check the back of your headlights and adjust the light output using the adjustment screws.
Sorry I'm at work I'll have a better look at home.

Are you saying the Ralliart doesn't have the three wires and the NA's do?

I haven't had a look was too tired after work. As far as I know in Australia most newer models of NA Lancers, RA's and the Evo GSR don't have the wiring in the engine bay.Â
Some pictures of the headlights, harness and switch might help.
My advice is either use the adjustment screws on the headlights to change the level.Â
Alternatively see if you can get the wired from somewhere else (ETACs?) and splice into it. As stated earlier you need will need three wires. One for Motor Drive, one for Voltage Comparison and one for Ground.
The first wire Motor Drive would just need a 12V power supply to drive the motor. Have a look on the headlight wiring loom/harness in the engine bay, one of those wires will be a constant source of 12V which you can splice into. Try Pin 2, otherwise just locate which wire is 12V or get it from another source.
Ground is pretty self explanatory.
The Voltage Comparison wire needs to be spliced into the input signal wire on the connector/loom or Pin 4? On the switch.
It's late and I could be way off the mark but that's my thoughts.
