DRL Relay

Postby Metalstrix » Tue Jan 21, 2014 11:38 pm

Hey guys

I've had a look around for my question but I couldn't find anything.

I got some DRLs in my room ready to be installed. However, I want them to automactically turn off when I turn my night headers on.

Do I need a relay to do this? Or can is there a way to wire it so it can turn itself off when I turn my headers on?

If I do need a relay, what's the best one to use?

Hey Tomo,

VRX looks great :)
I used a relay off eBay to do this,
On my phone now, but search up my ride thread, I've posted a link to it there

The one I used will dim the DRL
But if you connect the indicator leads on the relay to the +ve low beam, They'll completely switch off.
^ hopefully that makes more sense if you look it up

Hey,

Yes you will need a relay to do this if you have a Jaycar or a supercheap near buy you can get one from there just get a single pole double throw relay. The part number is SY4070 from jaycar and it costs about 6 bucks.

Cheers,
Mark.
