Opening up the sportsback tail lights?

Postby Fwd » Fri Feb 01, 2013 9:37 am

Just a question about opening up the sportsback tail lights to insert some led strips.
Can it be done with out cracking the lens?
Any particular brand or type of led that would suit this process better than others?

The only reason for asking is there is no aftermarket led tail lights for the sportsback and in my personal opinion they are a little boring for such a nice car.

I honestly don't think it can be done, as they are not glued on, they are heat melted on, plastic to plastic.

You are right though, very crazy that no one has made any of these yet, the design of the sports back has grown on me, and I think it's a great design.

Also where these tail lights are manufactured (yes they are made in Taiwan not Japan) a lot of the asian countries do not have the sports back model, so there has not been a demand for it either, nor I believe many sellers have requested it, big money is involved to design/produce it.
