If you are worried about getting defect tickets then maybe you can take the defective parts off your car.
I go down to the gold coast regularly. I've never had a defect ticket.
The Gold Coast isn't a capital city. It has anything u could want for a holiday location apart from snow.
It's probably a bit far for some people, but then again I didn't go to Mt Gambier because it didn't suit me.

This thread is for those who wish to participate in a National meet in the Gold Coast in April. For those who cannot make it, we shall look at having a meet towards the end of next year in a more 'central' location, so those who cannot come, don't need to worry about missing out!
So please keep it on topic

Seems I need to be a little bit more involved in this thread haha
Thanks John, I don't know much about mods that are illegal, but if you have something that's illegal in one state, chances are it will be illegal in the rest of the country too... Just don't drive like an idiot and you'll be fine.
Steve, the plan is just for the Easter weekend. 18th-21st April next year. There's a good chance I'll be staying with family/at a hotel in Brisbane for the rest of that week until the 26th when we have to leave for the drive home. But if anyone does want to stay longer since we're all making the trip, we can look into that.
I agree, everyone has their limits. Mine was Gold Coast and that's where Tom and I wanted to have it from the start, it just so happened that it also got the most votes. There's a nice beach (granted it will be winter) but it'll still be sunny. There's themeparks, fun tourist things (like mini golf, a segway track and a slingshot ride, etc). I think it's the perfect place for a holiday.
I've already told you I'd pick you up If you fly into GC airport I'll get you from there, if you fly into Brisbane (Whichever has cheaper flights) it's only $15 to catch the train and I'll pick you up from the Nerang train station cause that's as close to Surfers as the line goes. I'm more than happy to do that for anybody who's flying in.

all my point was (based on nsw cop experience) u drive a nice looking car, cop might not be in a good mood, he will pull u over, and can defect u for having a legal mod as its up to their discretion if its legal, and U NEED TO PROVE ITS LEGAL, they don't have to prove anything, and lets say u get pulled over and not defected, its still a hassle, as in Australia you need prove innocence, u r not not innocent unitl found guilty, u r guilty if the cop says so.
and im still coming, and think GC is a good location. I just wasn't sure if qld cops were out to get jap cars like here

I am kinda interested in coming to this. It all comes down to money and time for me. If its in the school holidays, which im pretty sure it is, I should be able to come. I have never been to qld so this would be the perfect opportunity for me.
