Central Locking Not Working

Hey all,

I have a problem in my 08' Lancer CJ ES 2.0i,
the driver's side inside door lock, when moved, does not apply to the rest of the car. So for example, when I get in the car and all doors are now closed, I lock the driver's side door and the rest of the car remains unlocked. It's as if each door ,including the drivers, is a single wired door.

Is there an easy fix to this problem as it yields for safety concerns whilst driving, especially at night.

Regards, Matt

That's weird, as far as I'm aware it should lock..

If you lock it with the button (when the cars off) do all doors lock?
did it used to lock all 4 doors and suddenly stop working or has it never worked?

behind the door trim there's only two cables one to open the door and the other for the lock so i doubt it would be anything mechanical on the actual doors themself

with my car when I was playing with settings (on mmcs) you could change how the doors locked when the car was in park - you might be able to on the dash using the settings button maaaaaybe, i'm not too sure on that one.

All else fails if the car is still under warranty definitely take it to your dealer and have them look at it under warranty

For now just lock it with the key button while you're inside :P

Mine locks all doors... Are you sure its not something weird like one of your doors isn't closed properly?

Yes there is an easy fix, your car has a warranty so use it....

Thanks Lads.

Will be taking it in to get fixed soon, but as for now will just have to lock with they key. However, when I lock with the key, does that set an alarm for the car? And when ignition is turned on, will it set the alarm off? This occurs in other cars of ours.

I had another squizz at it today, and realised that the door lock knob is not flush on the drivers side when 'open', so that may be related to the problem. Until serviced under warranty, will have to live without.

Car doesn't have an alarm, so makes no difference.
