LED SWITCH

Hi,

I has anybody found dash switches to replace the blank ones they currently have. (There is currently one which says ASC OFF but there are two others which are blank).

I want to connect some LEDs to it. A 3 way switch would be best (ON-OFF-DOOR), but i will settle for a simple OFF-DOOR switch.

Where can i get them?

Im thinking wreckers and pull out an old ASC OFF switch and just rub the text off it. :)

Cheers

keep in mind the ASC is a momentary switch so it is only on whilst held down..

so it wont work as a simple on off toggle switch i dont believe.

yeah to use these stock switches you will need a latching circuit attached to the switch.

And furthermore you can't "rub off" the words ASC. If you note carefully, they light up in the night. It's actually translucent plastic which allows the light from the LED behind it through... .

this is what ithink would looks like even though i dunno if it will work since i am not that good with electric...

the switch is just a on-off toggle switch like the one i showed in the reply above me...

when the switch is off the led strip will turn on when the doors are opened and when the switch is on, the led strip will turn on without the door being opened....

would someone correct me if this is right or wrong ?

cheers :) Tim

Not quite sure Tim.

But I was just thinking about it, and surely mitsu would sell the switches, otherwise why would they have the blank switches there?

If you got the missile/ aircraft switch, where abouts would you install it?

Speaking of those switches, does anyone know the purpose of the cables that are plugged into one of the blank slots?

These are a similar item from Jaycar but in CF

They will go over Jaycar's heavy duty 12mm switches. If you wanted matching switches you could try getting a blank cover from Mits or a wreker and adding a heavy duty switch and CF missle cover for the existing ASC OFF button and then do the same for any other switches you want to fit.
