Has anyone installed this and if so, with the steering wheel control?? I have seen a how to of an install to an EVO ( I think) but was wondering if the wiring would be at the steering wheel.
Thanks
Walter

I am pretty sure it is there, but I can't be 100% sure as I've only briefly looked in an ES wheel.
Only takes 30 secnds to remove the airbag if you want to look. Look at my DIY for installing the Steering Wheel Buttons for the steps to take.
I have a link to the install on an Evo if you want it, same procedure basically.

VR or ES same thing wiring wise. Except in MY10v models as VR now gets Rockford as option..

The wiring harness is the same on all lancers in the steering wheel and front dash

Kenwood headunit FTW, complete with Bluetooth! I hope you don't get sick of the OEM unit, or those extra buttons will not connect to aftermarket headunits...

Seems to be a popular conversion, as you see hundreds of the modules for sale on eBay etc... Although, they are not the same modules that connect with the steering wheel buttons, from initial investigation. They are the lesser-type which has a dash mounted button instead. Although, I have been proven wrong on many occasions, is this the type you're after?

I bought one from the US that has no button in the kit, just the module and mic.
VRX owners, can you answer the phone and make calls directly from the phone, or must it be with the buttons??? ie, if a call comes in, do you have to push the button or can you just answer via the phone???

For the sound and mic to work you need the buttons

either one, as in, the dash ones or the steering wheel??? I think I prefer the wheel as I am on the phone quite alot

Do you need a certain spec level of radio for the integration to work perfectly... Adrian (SIR-VRX) will know. Can you add the wheel buttons to anything? Or, must you just get the button on the dash variant without a certain spec radio?
