Anyone else have this problem. I am old and at night especially when raining I cant see to reverse down my driveway. The lights are just too dim to see anything in my mirrors and the reversing cam is no better it's just so noisy it's useless, very good in daylight tho. So I was looking at getting some sort of flood light fitted, http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/121407674030 ... EBIDX%3AIT but it will stick out like dog's b...ls and don't want that so anyone fit anything or replace bulbs ect please help.
Thanks.

Do you have tinted windows?

Yes but not very dark. The darkest allowed in NSW. BUT I only use my mirrors when reversing I don't look out back window. Too old to turn that far around these days.

You can get aftermarket bulbs fitted for the reverse lights. There's a thread somewhere on here. From memory, the before/after pictures posted showed a huge difference!

Thanks for that I have tried searching this site on many occasions and never been able to find anything but will give it a go.

I also have trouble backing some times when it gets darker, often lowering the left window because of the tint but yes better revers lights would be good.

Wonder if you can replace the red reflector things with some kind of LED hooked up to revers? Maybe with an override switch.

Thanks very much for that Shaun I found plenty of LED type but not the same shape this is just what I need now just have to work out how to get them fitted.

they are made for the car and are direct replacements, just remove the 2 screws on the reflectors and insert them into the new lights, then splice the wires together, all do :D

On my car they don't have any screws looks like I will have to take the bumper off. I purchased them yesterday should be here about 2 weeks. I am going to try and connect all the wires as they have Red and White LED's in them so that they glow red when I break and dim red as running lights and white when I reverse.

2 screw are on the inside of the bumper

there are 4 wires on the lights

black - ground
red - brake
white - reverse
green - dim red taillight

just wire them like that and it will work how u want it to by default.

Finally got the lights fitted. I had to have the bumper taken off and an Auto Elect guy wire them so did cost a bit but in the end well worth it. I had them wired up to Parkers and reverse of course the reverse cuts out the red Parker when reverse is selected. The reverse is a very bright WHITE and not a dull yellow of the lights in the tail light cluster.
So thanks again Shaun for the link.

The look cool! And not too expensive on eBay.

So you can't get in there without taking the bumper off?
