Hey guys! How are we today.

Unfortunately one of the biggest downfalls about buying my car last october was that it didn't come with the original key
because the previous owner lost it. However, I was searching through eBay and I found this awesome key.

Do you guys reckon this is safe to buy and how much would it cost to get it assigned to my vehicle?

I'm abit confused.

You have a 2008 VR. That doesn't have a SMART KOS.
The first VR with a KOS was in MY13.

Keyless Operation Blank (SMART Key)
RRP=A$285.00+
CCJ=A$250.00

Key Blank Secondary (The key which fits into the SMART key)
RRP=A$11.10+
CCJ=A$10.00

6370A159 Key, Door Lock Transmitter (No Boot Open)
RRP=A$172+
CCJ=A$155

6370B403 Key, Door Lock Transmitter (With Boot open button)
RRP=A$157+
CCJ=A$140

VRs tend to use 6370B403 Key, Door Lock Transmitter (With Boot open button)

Price is much less than the OEM SMART key but I'm not sure if that key is worth the risk.

The key is compatible with ES's. Why would it not be compatible with a VR? I'm not sure what a KOS is etc.

What ofey is saying is why are you buying a smart key when your car shouldn't have a smart key system.

You key should look like either of the two on the right of ofey's picture. You linked to the key on the left.

The two on the right are cheaper than the 'cheap' one you linked to. It might interest another club member but its not for your system.

It says OEM in the title, so you know its a real lancer key. The fact it is different to the key you have should be a bit of a giveaway that its the wrong key
