DRL wiring question

Postby bunnishiwa » Sun May 13, 2012 8:43 pm

Hi,

Am looking at getting 2 of the 6" LED strips for DRL's ( http://www.oznium.com/side-emitting-led-strip ). I'm planning to run them via a switch ( http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/370610690239 ... 1438.l2649 ) to the cigarette lighter power. Looking at always on, with the option of killing them if I wish, and (obviously) they will turn off when I turn the car off.

Can some of the more electrically minded of you tell me whether this would be correct, and whether the switch I'm looking at (to go next to the ASC switch) would be viable

Thanks

U will need a relay as running the power through just a switch will end up cooking it. Hence why all DRL kits foglight kits and spotlight kits come with them.

In short. Yes it can be done.
