Stealth Kit

Postby Blakey » Tue Dec 08, 2009 9:41 am

http://reviews.hspn.com/articles/132/1/ ... Page1.html

i found this im my dayly bored at work on the net sessions.

its a kit that can make your number plate dissapear at the flick of a switch, to hid it in photos.

so you dont have to blank out there number plate, caues it can be blanked out for the picture.

the site that makes them seem to has gone missing if anyone can fid it welldone.

The only thing ive been able to find similar is a plate flipper...

http://www.trydeal.com/cartruck/cartruck.html

Its rather ugly imo...

I rather like the stealth kit because you really wouldnt know, just looks like a plate protector...

So its designed just to be used when taking photos of cars on display? riiight.:?

Can see this being abused to get around speed camers & fill & flee at servo's.

Totally agree.. This will be abused by whoever that installs it.. Although I must admit, its a decent technology for what it was intended for, i.e. board meetings..

IIRC the speed/red light cameras take photos which can still easily reveal the contents beneath through the UV technology or something. I remember seing it in a documentary a while back.

I do wonder if this will be effective for the purposes of photoshoots though. Sounds good but would like to see more proof. Until then, I'm happy using my Malaysian RM15 plates which stick on using blu-tak and do a pretty good job of obscuring the plates below!

(Note RM15 is approx $5aud)

hahahaha 3m came out with a similar product a few years ago. its a normal clear piece of plexi glass but when you pass a current through it, it turned into a mirror. the idea was for police to use it in interview rooms to provide them with one way mirrors that could be turned off when needed and also be more resistant than normal glass. all well and good until someone pointed out that it could be used for hiding number plates amoungst other illegal activites. as a result 3m ceased production of it.

his dodgy cheap malaysian plates, which if he ever gets caught using he'll get slapped with a big fine and have his car impounded. probably not a good idea to post that up on a public forum jace. just a thought, just a thought
