new key transponder

Postby tommo08 » Thu Jun 04, 2015 10:50 pm

so...dropped keys last night and fell apart and lost the transponder chip (lucky I have a spare key) however wondering if anyone knows the cost and what is involved in getting a new transponder chip replaced

..on a side note however my battery in the spare key doesn't work (so cant use central locking etc) ill need a new one of those as well ..and I cant open the case up cause the screw is pretty well jammed in there.. and dont rly want to thread that either..so i cant even swap the batteries over...

cheers

Do you have a smart key or a normal key?

i just have a regular key http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?t=11452 ... t=flip+key shows how to replace to a flip key...as u can see in the 6th pic down on the back of the key there is a screw... i dont feel like snapping it off.. i would rather just get them to replace with a new battery :)
