This is one for you electrical genius
Is there away we could use the VSS to trigger the door locks if the car when it reaches a certian speed? say 20kmph
You would need to put in a way to check to see if the door is locked or not as well.. otherwise everytime the car got over 20kmph the doors would try lock again.
I thought about using the driver/ passenger belt warning to trigger the locks, but that require me to not have my seat belt on and drive a short distance...
Also not the best when you want to move your car a short distance for some reason.

I'll take a crack at answering this.
I will say NOT easily due to the way the car is set up.
The doors in a CJ lock in 2 ways:
1. Electrically if you have a SMART key system using that black button on the front door handles.
2. By a pulley system using the inner door handles. For a CJ without the SMART key system, your turning of the key on the driver door will pull these pulleys to lock or unlock all the doors.
So since you have an EVO MR, When you're out for a drive, try getting your passenger to press the lock button on your SMART key. The doors will not lock.
Which means you can't just use an electrical signal to trigger the locking.
There is a work around though which will require some electrically driven hydraulics much like your automated curtains in some smart homes.
You can send a VCC signal to one of these systems which can pull the wiring pulley which is used to manually lock the door on the drivers side. Though that will be quite abit of work to say the least.

I will test that out... Im sure I have done it before, but will confirm locking from the passenger seat.
My idea was to trigger the central locking via the drivers lock... physically push it and all the doors lock... Im sure I could use that to trigger the locks, I havent had a close look to confirm if this is possible...
Since I have two other problems I need to address.
1. How to make it trigger at a certian speed.
2. How to make it check the locks before triggering.

Whether or not your key is in the passenger seat makes no difference.
The difference here is when the car is actually in motion or even static but engine running, you cannot lock the doors using your SMART key.
As for your 2 points.
I think you're over-engineering the problem with point 2.
Even if it was electrically triggered, you can send the signal again without harm. If it isn't, pulling at the pulley system a 2nd time, makes no difference. It's still locked.
As for your trigger, you could use the speed sensor wire which triggers the NO USE of your MMCS screen. That seems apt enough but that's only 2 discrete levels, so in motion and NOT in motion. No specific speed for this.

I see your point.. I have a habbit of not sending signals to things that dont need it, dont want to put unneeded stress on components if I dont have to.
Problem with that is the speed is too low... people moving the car a short distance would get annoyed... but I think I have another idea just came to me... Driver seatbelt, once its clicked it it sends a signal to turn off the seatbelt warning.. I could use that as a trigger?
