smoked tailights

hey guys i gave it a go but i didnt like it so i was wondering does anyone know what would be the best to remove it with my step father said petrol but i wasnt sure and im not too keen on taking them off again so something thats not gonna damage my body paint?

he wants to get rid of the 'smoked' effect on his tail-lights, DIY solution..

Try rubbing alcohol first. I would also recommend you remove the lights from the car as well to avoid any 'complications' with body paint in case you mess up.

If the alcohol doesn't work, try acetone but really lightly on a rag.

metho spirits or petrol works a treat.

whatever you do don't use a scourer/steel wool, it'll scratch the crap out of your tail lights.. i learnt that the hard way

You can polish out scratched lights. Its not a total loss. You can even sand them down with a gradually finer sand paper and then have them refinished in clear coat or tinted clear coat for a proper tint.
