it may be worth seeing how much it'd cost to get it resprayed (if that's what you're after.) black might not look too bad on your ride either :p

Um there was a slight accident.... with the rear of a Hyundai. she stopped infront of me. needs new front, bonnet, radiator. :( damn old people

claim it all on insurance mate. espicially with the person being old. who know what "medical issues" pop up later.

You should aways drive far enough back from the car in front of you so that if they come to a complete stop you have enough time to brake safely, whether its 1km/h or 200km/h. There is no "default", its 100% your fault if you rear end someone. The old 3 second rule is a minimum, if you're going to play with your radio/mobile/chat with a passenger then increase the gap. If someone jumps in the gap, live and let live and back off again.
Life is too short to spend it filling out insurance claims and police reports.
