2008 ES Black Lancer

Postby Andrew » Wed Oct 27, 2010 8:09 pm

Hey guys! im pretty new to this forum

Im looking to get a lancer for my first car, a 2008 ES lancer to be exact. I know they appear sort of 'plain' to put it bluntly. I was wondering what some of you guys thought who actually own lancers would be some nice mods to make it look more appealing to a red P plater :D

I am thinking new rims and a nice new exhaust? Tint windows and spend around 2000 on sound! Im looking to get the car next week sometime so as you can imagine, im very excited!

thanks

Welcome to the club Andrew.

Being a red P plater I will assume you dont have loads of cash. Sorry if I am wrong.

I would get VRX/RA rims. They are 18" and people sell them cheap. Even a brand new set from a dealer sell them some times for $800 with tyres. That is a steal.

Vinyl between the grills and chrome strip makes the front even more aggressive.

Lowered springs complete the look.

Tint is cheap and affective.

Do your home work with cost of every thing you want. Especially labour if you can not do things your self.

Best of luck and feel free to ask more questions.

Thanks for the reply!

Ah yeah i have a couple of grand to play around with. I love the RA rims they are beautiful :)

My ridiculous mother may not appreciate the lowering idea. The thinks ill scrape the bottom of the car all the time. Would i? i really don't have any idea

Tinting will be the first thing i do for sure! have to check how my funds are feeling after that

Our Lancer have quite a long over hang in front. Even at stock height they will scrape. You have to be careful.

I lowered mine with King springs. It lowered it by about 30mm. The car would look better even lower but it will scrape too much for me. It is about compromise.

Seeing members cars at a meet, can give you good ideas.

Yeah, Mitch and PMR have done well witht he ES conversion into a much better looking rig.

Here is another direction you could go down with an ES.
