Does anyone know how differant the sports grille is compared to the standard grille on a VR Lancer??

On the Mitsu website,it has a photo of it but its hard to define the differance. Anyone got this fitted to there car? Would like to see a better pic.

Thanks.
Glen

Hey guys I actually have this on my car, check out my garage for pics.

Basically it replaces the black with a body coloured frame and the mitsu logo isn't on the plastic anymore but sits nicely over the mesh. IMO cleans up the look but then again I got it before I came here and ever thought about blacking out the bumper. I dont know that its a good idea if your planning on blacking out the bumper.

Yeah i had a look, looked nice the sports grille,so ill either get that,or ill get the Black surround grille (like the ES has),if i can get my hands on one.

The sports grille is nice, it really accentuates the front end, but if you want the evo look then either see if you can get it in black (what I would have done if Id thought about blacking out the middle) or as you said try and get your hands on a stock one from an es. Make sure you post pics of how it turns out :)

It won't look any better with the body coloured sports grill, you should go for the ES one.

well, if you want, they'll be plenty of people who want the chrome, so they'll be more than happy to trade with you.

As I said, I would have gone this option. The only real difference is that the mesh is set deeper and the mitsu logo is smaller (because it fits in the grille not outside it). I am currently looking at blacking out the mid section and the bottom of the grille (between the two airdams) but I just don't know if it will look right with the blue sports grille. If dealer wont give it to you then just go the ES as the black out EVO look is just awesome. Also because the front mitsu logo is smaller none of the vinyl packs (at least none that I have found) will fit it if you want to make it a different colour, another reason the ES one is just easier.

Have to admit it does look pretty nice though. $179 for CF isn't too expensive and a grille is something you don't want to cheap out on. I did that mistake on my Civic and ended up just buying another grille- with the amount I spent on fake/replica and spraypainting, I could've bought the genuine Mugen FD grille factory-painted!

That grille was linked somewhere before and I really liked it. Tbh that is a good option as the Mitsu one is pretty expensive (way more than that) and this still cleans up that grille area, only downside is no Mitsu logo but thats a matter of taste.

EDIT: Just saw this on the VOX Motor sport website

http://www.voxmotorsport.com/index.php?ws=showproducts&products_id=5700&lang=&cat=MITSUBISHI&subcat=MITSUBISHI%20LANCER%2008#openproducts

It looks ok, but no price was available so can't tell you how it compares.

Just received a sports grille today.

I'm not too sure how to install it yet, as it looks different to the stock one at the back, and the bolts provided are really small.

Has anyone installed it themselves? Also, is the mesh originally held on with cable ties? Seems strange to me.
