ive had my activ 4 2 weeks now..very happy cant complain

i was wondering though if u should install some front fog lights

my question is should i just get it dealer fitted?
or try myself..knowing im not very car/electrically educated though ..i do have a mate that could help but i was wondering as 2 how easy/hard it would be and if its just easier 2 get it installed for me?

Stu you could buy them from the dealer and try to fit them your self.

If it ends up being to hard you can take it back to the dealer and get them to fit them.

I find my dealer is really help full to giving me any installation instructions on OEM parts.

I would imagine they would be easy to fit, not cheap though!

Can I do some advertising here? I have 2 fog lights which I removed from my Olympic Edition Front end. And the grill with the chrome surrounds on them.

You will need a wiring harness and a change of the signal stalk from Mitsu and as Troy says you can get the wiring instructions through his Mitsu guys.

I fitted a set of after market Fog Lights from an ebay dealer.
The instructions given to me in the kit didn't match the products given to me.
However, they still work.
I just had to wing it a little and seek advise of a couple of members here as well as a sparky at work.

The outcome was this.
The things that were not shown on the diagram that i had to find out myself were
-I spliced the power wire into the back of the drivers side headlight so that the fog lights work only when power is supplied to the headlights.
-I had to pass the supplied wiring loom through the firewall/guard through a rubber gromet.

The diagram made no mention about the supplied switch that had to go into the dash board.

The kit it got is a stand alone fog light kit that does not neeed to have the sterring column stalk changed.

I hope I haven't confused the crap out of you but what I am trying to get across is that it is possible to DIY a set of fog lights.

Heaps cheaper than OEM dealer fitted ones but a bit of a headache comes with the fitout that's all.

wat would the prices be for dealer and diy?

Are we able to actually use the fog lights in Oz? I thought I heard a rule that you can only use them when the conditions are extremely foggy - very low viability...

Hi Ben. Yes you are right.

You answered your own question.

Illegal to use them unless there is fog around.

They annoy me fog lights, as they can blind drivers unnecessarily.

From memory the OEM kit costs around $600 with or without dealer fitment. Not 100% sure on this.

After market DIY kit on ebay will set you back around $110 USD + postage

OEMs are A$600 a set. Each of those fog lamps are about A$200. The plastic grills are about A$50 whilst the wiring harness is also about A$50. The stalk replacement or button will be about A$50.

I'm selling the fog lamps for A$150 (pair)
And the grills for a further A$50 (pair)

Irving can u help me out with the oem plugs from the foggies to the wiring plugs in the nose, i remember you had a mass of wiring from a lancer somewhere. otherwise whatever price it is.
