guys, what do i paint my chrome grill border on the ra with to make it the same matt black as the grill.
something that wont flake off.

and how do i remove said grill border for painting or is it easier to mask it up?

If you want to remove it, you will need to remove the front bumper to do it, so may be easier to just mask it really well.
Could use Plasti-dip to paint it, shouldn't flake off.

Many guys plasti-dip the nose ring, though if you want a permanent finish then spray can of matt black enamel paint will do.

i think you should sell it as its a rare 1 piece RA chrome surround. ebay it for a few grand lol

blakey, i think youll find that the one peicers are plastic and the 2/3 peicers are actually real metal .

so, update, i`ve done it with plasti dip, looks good although if u look close u can see the brush strokes, in hind sight the spray on version would have been better.

the link is ok to a point but buggered if i could get even a cut off stubby driver into the screws near the intercooler endpipes, i ended up having to remove the crumple bar.
this made putting the ring back in much easier and its not real hard to remove the whole bar.
anyhoo, i like the end result

ps, if anyone in brisbane wants to do it theres 1 can of plasti dip left in brisbane at PRIME ELECTRONICS BOWEN HILLS.
i was gonna buy it, corner the market and auction it off

btw, if u do do it, careful of the 2 clips halfway down each end, u could snap the plastic!

Oh damn I was gonna grab that plasti dip.. i suppose none left

dead right andrew, u have to remove the bar on a RA.
evo`s maybe, but all lancers without an intercooler u should not have to remove the bumper.

well bowen hills no longer has any more plastidip and can't get any from teh distributor (as mentioned in previous threads) Guy said its because the plastidip company wants the OZ distributor to order a $20,000 stock which is too much...
