Hey guys Im picking up a 2010 Lancer Activ next month and would like to add some front air dams. I dont have any experience installing them. Just wondering where the best place would be to buy them and if it would be worth getting someone who knows what they are doing to do it.
Im also looking at getting some fog lights put in. Would an auto-electrician be able to install them?
Sorry for the stupid questions but Im completely new to this sort of stuff
Cheers

You can buy the X-factor front airdams. Suppose to be good replicas of the originals. All are happy with those who have installed them. I've bought them myself but can't install it thanks to my stupid driveway (super steep approach angle).
I'm sure you can get a member here to help with both installs. You can buy non-geniune fogs on ebay easy too.
Just so you know, it is illegal to have your fogs on in clear weather in QLD.

So are the air dams easy to install. Im not much of a handy man but my dad is. Also would auto electricians sell and install fog lights. My Mitsu dealership is asking around $650 for the fog lights and $800 for front and rear air dams which seems rediculous

Don't go through mitsu lol.
Front airdams are some double sided tape and a screw each I think. No drilling or anything pretty sure.
Vox sells foglight replicas.

My net is capped so I can't find them for you
Their site doesn't have prices but I guarantee its cheaper than mitsu...
There must be another member who is willing to help you install them.
I think ofey can help with vox?
What are rear airdams

Or just hook them up to a new switch on one of the spare spots on the right of the steering wheel.
Will save you a lot of money. And effort.

Thanks for all the replies so far guys. Really appreciate it. The air dams seem easy enough to install if its just double sided tape and drilling. So you guys recommend X Factor air dams?
Anyone know roughly how much fog lights and installation would cost from an auto sparky?

You do have to drill into your bumper to install the front air dams
As for difficulty, the hardest part is just getting it aligned for drilling. Once its aligned correctly, its a piece of piss

Also looking at getting the vinyl black out grill thats on the evo's i think. Mitsu is asking $150 for it including installation. Im guessing you can get it alot cheaper aswell elsewhere

Front Airdam installation
1) Remove the front bumper.
2) Factory pre-marking already available at the back of the bumper
3) Drill at those marking
4) Hook up x-factor front airdam to the bumper
5) Put the front bumper back into the car
6) Done !!!

To Shadows how hard is it to remove the front bumper?
To BR14AN, sounds like you got a really good deal there. Will try to get them to include some extras like you said. What colour did you get??

I got a white one
If you havent ordered you might want to be quick,
I heard that this is the last shipment of the Activ Run. I was lucky to score a white one, they went quick. The last lot of the Activs arrive in Aus on the 1st of next month. (Not intirely sure if this is true)
If you can, play dealers off eachother, this is a good way to do it:
-Go to a dealership furthest away from you that you can be bothered to go to, tell them your looking at buying a car from ____ dealership what can you do that will better their deal.
-Go to the next closest dealership, tell them what the first dealership offered and get them to better it... wrinse and repeat. Worked well for us haha
Best of luck.

Nice choice on colour. Already have one on order (Effect Grey). Its actually just waiting at the dealership. Have to wait for my parents to get back from overseas though before I can have it haha. Problem for us is the Mitsu dealership we are going with is the only one in town so that limits our bargaining power.
How much would a black out vinyl grill cost online??
Also whats involved taking the bumper off the front? Are there any tutorials on here?
