I need some advice, is it worth getting extractors for my 2009 VRX, I know the basics of how extractors work but not sure on the detailed workings. If worth it what do you guys recommend and what price i will be looking at roughly?

Couldn't tell you whether they're worth it, but RPW (www.rpw.com.au), one of the sponsors, has both 4-1-1 headers (manual) and 4-2-1 headers (CVT).

Question to ask (and will be asked) is whether you've already an aftermarket exhaust (whole kit, not just the muffler), as if you've the stock system any potential benefits from new extractors will be nullified by the narrow stock exhaust (I think - please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong).

If it's a just power boost you're after check the threads in the RPW (sponsor) section of the forums re the flash tune - tis good value/benefit.

Jarryd the short of it is not worth it on a financial side of things but modding never is.

Fitting headers by themselves would be a complete waste of time. A slight difference in exhaust note but probably no performance gain.

You need to fit new headers and complete exhaust system plus improve the air intake and air filter. Then the ECU will need to be retuned.

Our sponsor RPW is about to receive new headers and exhaust systems. They will then trial them and make a generic ECU tune to suit.

I would expect all this to cost around $2000. I suspect there will be about 10-20% improvement in power and torque with better fuel economy.

We hope to have all the info in 2-3 weeks. You are lucky as most of us have been waiting for over 6 months.

Make your own judgement whether it is worth it.
