Front Grille Vinyl // Number plate question

Postby Blackjack » Wed May 05, 2010 9:17 am

Hey all,

I see a lot of you have the matte black vinyl for the front centre bit.

Im also getting this done on the weekend but im wondering, where am i going to put my number plate!

Not sure if i want to put it on the corner, i like how Tadz0rz is on the bottom part of the grille, how can i get it to stay on like that?

Mate I have the NSW slimline plates and I have mine in the lower grill to the right hand side of the car (I will try and fine a pic for you). I have got mine held on with two cable ties and there is no way that plate is going anywhere :P.

here is one will try and find a better one;

The cover is my stock one that I had painted up, I done all the prep, had a mate do the blue and clear, then I passed it off to a local artist to do the airbrushing. I hope to have round two done soon which is the intake and front radiator panel being airbrushed to match the engine covers :D.

yeah mine is wrapped around under the grill, I infact took the grill out for the signwriter as I did not want them doing.

The only thing I have found with mine is it has some small tears where the number plates holes are in the bumper, I should have glued something into them or taped over them first. However the only reason it did tear was from a higher speed.

I have done heaps of bumper black outs on CJ's

S**t easy for me to do!!

Best to remove the upper grill and wrap the top edge over so that the paint colour can't be seen when the grill goes back on.

In regards to airbrushing. I can help you out.

ah, it tells me the administrators wont allow me to PM (i think i need to up my post count)

I would like to know more about maybe an option of painting it instead as long as its not too pricey, cause i just know it will look better painted.

yeah need 20 posts to PM, if you paint you will either have to keep you num plate were it is stock or you will have to plug the holes some how so you can paint over them.

If done properly it is imposible to tell if it is painted or not.
If you paint it and stone chip it then it will look shite house untill you repaint it!
If the vinyl gets damaged then just remove and replace.

I will take a closeup pic of mine shortly and see if you can tell the difference.
