Perrin "shorty" antennas - opinons, experience?

So i have my vortex generator installed for a few weeks now and the stock drinking straw (antenna) just doesn't "fit in". i have it folded down pointing forwards currently.

Have been looking at a Perrin Shorty 2" antenna.
http://www.perrinperformance.com/products/show/474/Shorty-Antennas-Evo-10?category=34&model=26 They come in 3" and 4" (the stock one is 7.5").

Anyone had personal experience in terms of reception?
Mostly I have my ipod so reception is not a big concern more cosmetics. I rarely go interstate (or close to - aka Byron) and more a suburban dweller. :) Worse comes to worse the OEM can sit in the wheel well or at the back of the glove box for those "in need" moments for reception out in the sticks.

Maybe it should be a GB for Feb! :D Place in brisbane 'ROTA Australia" via ebay charge $15 for shipping!

Edit:spelling

I have a CF stubbie. It is not Perrin, but I can confirm that there is a slight loss of reception.

I haven't seen a lot of feedback on the Perrin....

Nice find, that is actually cheap if you consider what they are selling for on eBay !!

Ebay pricing is like $34.95 plus $15 for a courier between Brisbane and Sydney. The $15 is over kill, a few dollars in an Aust Post satchel is sufficient or least having the option to go cheap.

And I can't find anything on the ROTA website to order it ex-ebay.

sooooooooo definately want a stubby.

Yeah, the website I was looking at was http://rotaaustralia.com/ - which redirects to Cartel-Online UK. Oh well.

Yeah, but it seems to be blatant profiteering on eBay... his prices are so out-of-the-ordinary expensive on eBay.. must just be the fools paying that.

Oh, but his website sells great wheels... should have mentioned that in fairness!

with selling on ebay you have to pay a % of how much it sells for

thanks bd-850, I knew this, but when the price is 25% or more than elsewhere, that is profiteering...

Oh yes, I was lusting over those earlier today. :D

Like bd-850 said, ebay take their cut from the price excluding postage costs. Hence sellers jack up the postage to evade the Ebay fees.
I'm looking for some other options - but will fire off an email tmrw to query pricing.
