I got bored today and had a play around with the tail lights.
Kinda could not justify spending around $400 for black tail lights so I put my skills to the test to see what i could acheive.

You be the judge 8)

Ran out of daylight

I have painted some vinyl the same colour as the car so I might do the other light red metalic to see how it looks then flip a coin to decide!

Can they be dismantled?

Still gunna have the redish tint to the lense.

Rather than vinyl, the better way would be to mask the outside where the lights are and paint the disired colour.

I know someone that can do that!...........ME!!!

Im sure you'd be able to get them apart, similar to what you have to do to the headlights for the angel eyes.

And to get rid of that pinkish tint of the lights, you could apply the lightest coating of nightshade or something..

I had a spare tail light here, and to get it apart is impossible without breaking it. it is nothing like the headlights.

These are glued really well. I managed to get most of it open, used acetone to dissolve the glue, but it still damaged them where the lens meets the body.

hard to explain, but you will understand if you try to open them

Baking doesn't work, it's not that type of glue Tadz. Think superglue

My guess it that it is glued with weld-on 3 or weld-on 16.
These are the glues that we use at work for making plastic fabricated letters.

I have used it before to repair mini cracks and broken car parts before.

It is actually a solvent which melts the plastic together.
