Which Body Kit for VR Lancer

Hey Guys,

As some of you may know, I am looking at getting my CJ Lancer VR pretty soon.

And the first mod I am looking to do, is to get a decent front Lip and side skirts.

I don't need something too full on, I am more or less after something that will give it that sporty subtle touch, I guess something that looks like a VRX body kit would be ok, but would prefer something a bit different.

So I was wondering what you guys would recommend, and how hard are they to DIY install, if not how much would it generally cost to get someone to install it?

Out of interest, how much does it cost to get the VRX styling kit? like the front, back and skirts.

Oops, forgot to add my budget, looking to spend around $1000 max, but again the lower the price the better.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

I've been watching the posts you've been making for awhile now and I hope you don't take my words the wrong way. But perhaps you can try searching the forum for information? Or post on existing threads?

Some forums have rules (we don't) where if you ask a question that has already been addressed, they delete your post.

There is a group buy section to the forum and also many sponsors who sell body kits.

If you look at my thread:
Bodykits and Add on Parts
Concorde Customs also has some offerings:
GROUP BUY - Talon Bodykits
while X-Factor design have their own section and our main man Shadows has a whole bunch of offerings there which are built to OEM spec.
Our other sponsor PMR also offer a bodykit range as seen here.

Else, you can also go through the Garage and look at what some of us have done to our cars or our ride section and that will elucidate further the things that can be done.

in answer to your question:
I would say what you install depends on how much you'll spend. First a note about materials: the cheapest is fibreglass but sometimes the fit there is usually nasty. FRP is a middleground and ABS usually is what most would look for and is what most OEM parts are made from.

Also besides X-Factor and PMR,
I think most other body parts only come primed and unpainted.

You should be able to fit on ABS plastic parts on your own since the fitments are usually perfect (thus the increased costs). Else most body shops or panel beaters will fit for about A$72/hr work.

Painting is usually the expensive bit. To paint a spoiler is about A$150-A$200.

Explore the forum abit and perhaps you'll find more information that way. The site's search function is just as good as google.

Hi Ofey,

Sorry about that, I will keep that in mind next time before making a post.

I think ill probably go for the X-factor and PMR kits, since they are already painted.

Thanks for the links.

Cheers

Just a note Jazz, the skirts on the VR are the same as the VRX. So you are probably better off just looking for something to dress the front of the car. I went the VRX airdams, and a C-lip. But there are various other options.

Also, you can get a rear diffuser for the back to finish it off. I know where you can get a nice CF one ;)

Yup. I'll be getting a front lip soon... but only after the VRX wheels :)
