I'm installing a dual exhaust system into my car and in order to do that I need to remove the tie down/tow point on the rear left of the car, to the left of hee number plate as it is blocking one of the exhaust cutouts on my bumper where the tips will need to go. Does anyone have any advice/tips before I just whack a grinder on it.

Did you remove it yourself or get someone else to do it?

I would of rather they do it but they said no they can't do it. So I just chucked a grinder on it and did it myself, if they want it cut further back they can do it themselves.

Whats the point of the tie down point?

I mean most transporters tie down the wheels, as tying down the body of the car you have the suspension movement to deal with.

Dunno yeah that was my reasoning too for transport most people go through the wheel spokes.

Only thing I can think of is if you need to tie it down for a rolling road to check the engine power.
