the problem wiht fibre glass is its is illegal , it does not comply with ADR rules and regs
and there are those already saying meh buy original or buy a ralliart but $2500 for the bonnet unpainted and without the vent and hood kit is rediculous

Carbon fibre is even more illegal because it's so strong and without proper engineering can be very lethal in a crash.

I'd rather he make something original, that way everyone isn't driving around in fake evo's.

Fair call...I need a hood with a side scoop so it goes straight to my SRI. Might actually do something then

Was talking about that sort of thing with my mate last night, you'd still need a shield on it I think if there was a vent directly above it as when it rains it would suck in water/it would drip down onto it.
One of those K&N covers would do the trick so it's only sucking air from the end. Though I guess it depnds on the vent really. Also washing the car would be pretty awkward as I tend to go a bit mental with the hose sometimes.

Mate of mine bought a carbon fibre bonnet from an australian supplier for his R34 Skyline and there is no drama with ADR's in that regard. Perhaps if someone has some time (I don't at the moment, maybe later tonight) we should look up if there is any conflict with Carbon Fibre in the ADR's at all.
