Plastic Clip of death

Hey guys
So my angel lights came in today and I literally started to work on getting them on. But I was stuck on step 1 of a youtube video I'm following which is removing the 2 plastic clips at 0:41.

At 0:41, the guy is removing the right plastic clip. When I tried to do that on my lancer, the middle part of the plastic clip wasn't coming up as it's supposed to for me to take it out. I keep unscrewing and unscrewing but it just won't pop out.
Is there anyway I can get the clip out even though the screw has lost its spiral thread?

Hi mate, I needed to change batteries not long ago and had the same issue.
If you get a very thin flat head screw driver and gently slide it under the plastic washer surrounding thr screw there you can pop it up so to speak and it comes out. Be gentle though and careful not to scratch the surrounding pastic....it comes out easy with the middle plastic screw then too.
It's a cheap fastener so the plastic screw does not grab on the thread.....
When your putting them back in just pop them in but be careful not to bend the litte lugs.....you will see them once you pop these out......
Seen them do this at the dealership too

^ Yups. And if that doesn't work, glue the screwhead part to the end of a cheap biro and twist and yank out as you'll probably replace that clip with a new one that works.

They should screw out if you push up on them from underneath at the same time!
They're a bit sharp so maybe use a cloth or whatever, but they should screw out if you do that, that way you can put them back again after and don't need to worry about damaging/replacing them.

i had trouble removing this yesterday as well.. In the end i just used a flat head and popped the middle part first then pushed it up from under the panel..
