What's the catch? VRX Style Spoiler Painted $100 + $80post

Hey guys,

I've been lurking on the CJ forums for a while and have a question in regards to the below eBay post - I'm sorry if this is a noob question.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-OE-Factory- ... 0668596755

Basically I've been searching for a VRX style spoiler for my '08 VR for a while now and it seems most Aussie shops that sell them do so unpainted. International shops that do sell them painted are generally pretty expensive, so I've been trying to find a decent alternative.

I stumbled upon this the other day and it seems to good to be true. I'm going to take a stab and suggest it probably doesn't come with any fitting kits, which is fine by me, I'm happy to pay to get it fitted.

Apart from that, what could possibly be the catch? I fully understand that you get what you paid for, and would happily even pay $200 for a painted VRX spoiler without postage, but can't find anything that suits my needs.

Thanks everyone,
Kendo

It's probably not ABS plastic.

What material is it made of?
Also how is it shipped? Perhaps they cut it in two and ship it an expect to be stuck together.

Cheap always has a trade-off/catch.

Seems ok, states in description that its made out of ABS plastic. Though the paintjob quality may be inferior at that price, just be cautious when purchasing stuff off ebay from international sellers.

Not really sure about this item but if you are interested in an Evo X spoiler scorpion motorsport has them on sale for 350 or so (I think) that is painted and shipped :)

Yeah I thought about that Pete but according to the listing it's in one piece and made of "OEM grade blow moulded ABS virgin plastic resin" so hopefully all those boxes are checked. I've read in the feedback that the paint sometimes doesn't match their claimed colour but that wasn't for the Lancer spoilers. I might contact them and ask some of the queries we've had here and then if I end up purchasing it I'll post up a review.

I'd normally go for cheap, unpainted but primed (meaning ready to be painted) spoilers. At least you can find a smart local paint shop to finish the job, just so you can be assured of quality. It would be a bugger to receive a painted part that has damages caused by shipping or simply poor workmanship. I can't be bothered to ship it back for a refund or exchange, worse if the seller is being difficult in such situations.
