Anyone used VHT Nightshade on tail lights?

Hey everyone,

I recently started a project of mine that i've wanted to do for ages! I was considering buying a set of ebay that were already smoked, but very lightly so.

I decided to give it a go myself, 1st option was heating up some window tint, because i knew that would still allow light to past threw..

Defs a difficult task but one that seemed very simple to start with as the 3rd brake light was done is minutes. the boot side tail lights were a lot more time consuming and because of the shape always resulted in a crease or wrinkle. Although seeing a friend of mine, Pete (Marek) tint his lights with almost incredible results mine didn't at all turn out the same. From a distance it looks fantastic! As seen below:

But up close it wasn't at all up to my standards.... so they were removed except for the 3rd brake light.

I DID TEST THESE BOTH DURING THE DAY AND A NIGHT BEFORE DRIVING ON THE ROAD. BOTH TIME THE LIGHTS, IN MY OPINION WERE EASILY SEEN FROM CLOSE UP AND AT A DISTANCE!

Now my question is....

Has anyone used the VHT NightShade before?

Would love to see the final results if it has been used. Or suggest other ways of doing something like this.

Thanks
Tim

One of the guys I work with did it on his civic.
Comes out quite dark so watch how many coats you put on.
VHT tend to make a decent product so don't worry :)

Did mine a week ago using VHT night shade... will post up some pics when I get home :) If your gonna use it though I would be careful on how dark you go, might not be covered by your insurance company if someone runs up the back of you and claims they couldn't see your brake lights.

Looks insane with all the other black/dark stuff on the car :)

I will take some photos tonight showing the visibility and also some in the sun to show that if you cant seen my lights you are visually impared :P not that the insurance company cares about that haha
