Go for chrome if (1) you can get it done on the grille perfectly and (2) you change the window trims to chrome as well. Most grille surrounds stick out, probably because of the thickness of the trim itself. If you can grab hold of the real thing, as in the actual RA surround, then that's even better.
The black one is also nice and easier to do, but I am a chrome guy nonetheless.

@steve: - black is the new pink? - are you trying to start a blue???
@Al: - the trim strip stick out four or five mm - unfortunately, you can't just stick an RA surround on - they won't fit as the front bar is different...
The chrome makes it look a bit more ''flash' / 'finished', but the black is quieter...

So far, if we include pink with chrome, it's more than 2:1 in favour of blacked-out
If we include pink with black as per Steve's suggestion, it's 3:1...
Looks like I'm breaking out the heat-gun and white spirits on the weekend...

.
Well... I did it...
Took off the chrome surround - back to black - The masses have spoken and I have yielded to the popular vote...
Definitely need to get silver-on-black number plates...

Hi Kev',
It looks lighter in real life than in the last two photos - I believe it's exactly the same as on the earlier models - my rear wing is off a 2011 VRX and matches perfectly...
Akram reckons I should put the chrome back too!
