EVO X hood VS stock lancer gts/vrx hood

Postby s84kam » Mon Dec 14, 2009 9:37 pm

I'm just curious about the weights of the 2. Are they both made with aluminum or is the one on the GTS/VRX slightly heavier?

anyone got weight specs for the two?

There is a very noticeable weight difference, the Evo/RA bonnet being a lot lighter.

Don't know the actual figures though sorry.

Accident damage. They splinter dangerously. As opposed to metal which crumples.

Just because your mate with VTEC, y0 hasn't been caught by the po-po doesn't mean it's not illegal

plus you will probably find that your mates is carbon fiber warped fiberglass, which is legal, there is only a very select few manufactures that make pure CF stuff.

unless it cost him like 2-3 grand for each part then its not pure CF. and only CF wrapped. most bonnets that way they are CF and only cost 600-700 is only wrapped fiberglass. i have seen a few places that sell pure CF body parts and they range in the thousands for each part.

But man..he has been pulled over god knows how many times for RBT...they only give him shit about the car 2 low, pod, exhaust...they say nufin about hes carbon...thats why i dont think its illegal...ive seen a EVO X in sydney with a carbon hood pulled over at Lapa and the cops said nufin about hes hood..just 2 low etc..

well 1800 is a reasonable price for a pure CF bonnet, but even with that it is still illegal just cause the cops don't know it, by ADR it is illegal.

because of the fact that Carbon Fiber splinters and becomes a road and heath hazard.
