Replacement bumper help me

Postby mikec » Tue Jan 26, 2016 10:15 pm

Hi all
Not sure if this was brought up or not but I'm wondering if it's possible to fit a vrx front bumper from a 2012 model on a 2009 model
Reason being the 2009 model doesn't have the chrome surround(but I've diy it) last week a bus back into my front quarter and looks like I need to replace the front bumper so I'm hoping I can fit a later model 2012 bumper bar on it so I don't need to diy

I'm hoping it's just a matter of ordering the part and nothing more than that even tho it's been done as insurance job it's a straight on fit I can just find a repairer willing to order the replacement as the newer model

Thanks in advance

yes they are simply bolt on.
The exception is the Evo X front which will not fit and the new front end (2015-2016 unconfirmed)

Keep in mind that the foglamp style changes going from NA to RA style front end.

Thanks
What do u mean about the fog lamps
Do u mean it just looks different or does wiring need to by adjust etc?
From the photo from red book they both seem be in the same location no notable differences

Yes it fits but you need to also replace your fog lights and I believe your under tray as they are different.
So it is not as cheap and simple as replacing the front bumper bar.

Probably the best current thread that illustrates the options available.

I brought a Evo X style front bumper for my 2009 cj es and fog lights for the bumper from mars and apparently it was installed easy.

God sounds like a hassle
I'll just get it replaced as original
