Be careful which silicon you use. RTV silicon has acetic acid in it (smells like vinegar) which promotes rust very quickly.Best to look forsomething neutral.Can you hold the bits on with masking tape or similar while your adhesive goes off ?.

770 is just way overkill (great shit) but it will either melt the plastic or turn it brittle.

Most loctite stuff rely on a chemical reaction to cure and this produces alot of heat

shoot. which RTV are you talking about? ive used RTV to stick my spoiler on my challenger!

Dow Corning "Silastic" Brand is the most common one . If you still have the tube or cartridge that you used have a sniff if it does smell like vinegar I would be taking it off and using something neutral like sikaflex.
