Who has the Talon Rear Diffuser?

Postby mattywired » Fri Sep 28, 2012 9:59 pm

Hey everyone.

Im thinking of getting the Talon Rear Diffuser (MIT-117). It looks great in pictures but i want to get the thoughts from people who own them.

They are fibre glass arent they?

And the twin tips which come with the kit, is one with a bracket as to set it up as a dummy tip?

Thanks in advanced :)

When I was looking into getting a rear lip, I looked at the talon kit. It is made of fibreglass and yes it does come with a dummy tip. the only reason I really disliked it though was because the max tip u could have was a 3'' so I couldn't put a bolt on exhaust system through it unless it was modified

That doesnt worry me because i will probably be keeping my exhaust pretty standard. Other than the problem of size for bigger exhausts it is a good bar? Worth the effort and money?

So you bought the ralliart exhaust and installed the two tips that came in the kit onto the ends of the ralliart exhaust?

It looks good BTW :)

Was there much stuffing around to get it fitted and looking good?

you say that now but in the future that might change and then your in trouble. That's what happened to me anyways. in terms of quality of the product i would probs say it got to be one of the best rear bars out there and since its been installed so many times there should not be fitment issues

Yeah Mate ,Just So Happened My Exhaust Shop had a New Ralliart Muffler on Hand, Charged Me $380 Fitted, there was a bit of Mucking around, but nothing really hard for an exhaust shop to Handle. I tried to get bigger Tips fitted at that time, but there was just no Room to go bigger :-(

Thanks for replies guys :)

I may get it sometime this month. Im tossing up getting my tint first though...

Maybe a 30%??

My Evo6 has 15% and its heaps dark! maybe a bit too dark. so 30% would be perfect :)

Back to the bar though, It shouldnt cost too much for paint and fit should it?

Just give talon a ring or email them. They will be able to paint and fit. Probably looking around the $400-$450 mark. in terms of which to get first, I reckon the tint will be overall more noticeable

Here is a picture of it on my car:

As far as the exhaust goes its the xforce system, it fits fine but it needed slight modification as the pipe on the left was slightly shorter than the right.

I might have someone to paint and fit it :)
But yeah im thinking of doing the tint first now because i drive in the dark alot and hate other peoples headlights from behind. (im used to the 15% in my other car)

I wish this fit the Ralliart rears. I just called up talon and they said theyre just designed for the base model lancers :( im in love with the rear diffuser in the pics but i just wanted one that would fit a ralliart and obviously wouldnt need the dummy pipe since ralliart is already twin exhaust.
