How to black out front bar?

Hi all,

So atm, my white lancer activ is totally stock, and I love the look of the blacked out front bar (personal preference of a matte black or grey over the carbon fibre look) . I've had a look through a few old threads, however still wondering what is the best method to get this look? and if DIY is possible...how long does the process take? I'm sure many of you here have done this, so any advice would be great.

DIY is easy, takes about 20 minutes, use the wet method. Spray the surface and the sticky side of the vinyl with water and then apply it to the bumper, moving it around as needed. Squeeze out the bubbles using a credit card wrapped in a cloth or squeegee. Let it dry and if there are any bubbles left that won't come out, pop them with a needle and flatten the area. I had learnt that the hard way; lots of rips in my vinyl

Awesome, thanks for that...both methods seem pretty straight forward, yet the questions stands, to plasti-dip or to vinyl? or is it really just six of one, half a dozen of the other?

i would go for vinyl cause its easier and smoother then plasti-dip.unless you doing the bottom lip of the bumper, then plasti-dip would be good for the bottom cause it abit hard to get for the bottom bit.only problem with plasti-dip is you dont really get a very smooth surface like the vinyl does but the colour is still the same

The plasti-dip dries smooth - of course it won't be as smooth as the vinyl. However, I personally find the plasti-dip's matte black finish seems more natural with the surrounding plastic bezel...not that the difference is even noticable.
