think the stock auto knob is held on by a clip so you might need to snap it off then it'll be screw on for the new knob.

Im keen to change the cvt shifter knob as well, whats the chances of maybe setting up a group buy if we find something that everyone likes? Im sure we arent the only 2 cvt owners who would be keen!

The Shift Knob on the CVT Auto does not Screw-On / Screw-Off.
It Pulls-Off (upwards)
It's held in place by a strongish Internal Spring Clip.

Removal Method of Factory Knob:
* Place Shifter in Neutral position.
* Take a Firm Hold at the Base of the Knob with both hands.
* Pull Upward with Force.
* The Spring Clips inside the Factory Knob will expand and allow the Knob to Slide Up & Off the Shifter Rod.
This takes a Moderate Amount of Force To Do ... So be Persistent & Dont Just Give-Up after your first attempt.

Here is a YouTube Vid from 9Glancers that kinda explains how it's done: 2008+ Lancer - HOW TO: Take off Automatic CVT Shift Knob

Refit Method for Factory Knob:
Simply Place the Knob on the Shifter Rod & Push Down Firmly ... you will Hear & Feel a Distinct "Click" indicating the Spring Clip has Located & Engaged.

After-Market Knobs "DO-NOT" have the same Spring Clip which is in the Factory Knob.
They instead come supplied with an assortment of different size Plastic Sleeves & Small Grub Screws.
* You simply select the Sleeve that Best & Neatly Fits your Selector Rod.
* Insert the Sleeve into your new Knob.
* Slide the New Knob containing the Sleeve onto the Selector Rod.
* Screw Fit & Tighten the small Grub Screws evenly so that the New Knob remains central / not crooked on the Selector Rod.

Look at some of these places for Knobs.
