Booked the car in to get 20% window tint fitted in a few weeks, i still have time to change my mind and go 35%, however before i do just want opinions on insrurance and how effective 20% is compared to 35??

Firstly would i be covered in a at fault accident??
Would i be covered for hail damage or if the car was stolen and recovered??
If someone ran into the back of me and they were not insured, and i had to claim for repairs, would the company still cover it??
Thanks.

If they have reason to believe that your vision was impaired by the tint then they can deney your claim. Cops will ticket and defect your car if they catch you and if an accident happens before you fix the defect you have no insurance

I have 20%.
It's defectable. But it matches my VRX "privacy glass" on the rears.

I guess the only time an insurance company might wriggle out of paying out it when you're at fault and your side vision was impaired that caused the accident.
Turning into a dark street and hitting something. Or coming out of a street and not seeing car/s from your left and right.
If you rear end someone, they'd have a hard time justifiying as your field of vision is your untinted winshield.

I do find 20% is a bit too dark on nights on suburban dimly lit streets back streets. I just wind the window down if im not sure.
As long as you understand your visual limitiations and you compensate for it then you should not but putting yourself at a higher risk of a bingle.
