Painting interior door handles

Postby Stalker » Wed Oct 13, 2010 1:18 pm

Has anyone here tried this idea?

I've been considering spraying my interior door handles silver or chrome or something.

I'm quite happy with the black ones actually, it matches well with my black leather interior trimmings, which I think makes all the black plastics in the car look less cheap and makes it a bit more classy.

but painting them would definitely make it more unique if done properly.

It's a fairly high traffic area ... I think you'd run the risk of it looking pretty shoddy pretty quick.

I was thinking of having them shot with gloss black and several layers of clear so they have some decent protection

Mine are done in Electric Blue. Put clear over the top and no problems

aside from taking the door assembly apart, if you took care in painting it'd be fine. it wouldn't need a lot of coats, just a couple of clear coats to keep it clean
