GReddy Shifter Knob

Postby maleticj » Wed Apr 14, 2010 8:00 pm

hey guys i recently purchased a manual 2010 Cj Lancer Activ..and the shifter it comes with is rather ugly, so i set out to buy a aftermarket one,, to purchase a aftermarket one from mitsubishi cost about $300 buks lol which is frkn ridiculous so i found a nice GReddy one but i am unsure if it will fit?? and would it sit flush like the stock one?? so if anyone could help me i would greatly apreciate it.. Cheers

The type B will fit. Not sure if it will sit flush though.

I have the evo one, and had to drill it out a bit to get it flush with the gearboot

You will notice your gear stick has 2 threads on it. A larger and a smaller. The EVO knob screws onto the smaller thread at the top. I drilled out about 10mm larger than the large thread on the gear stick.

hope that makes sense :P

Joe it is personel choice.

I like stock looking gear knobs especially the leather ones. But it is your car.

I suggest you go to a car shop like repco and look at different knobs in person as some item on the web especially ebay are cheap and nasty.

It looks alright, although it looks like it is polished which I would be worried would get scratched.

It needs a little leather conditioner but it is fine.

It is in the for sale section, so it is up to you :D

I have this shiftknob in my car, it's solid in weight, however maybe cause i have big hands it feels small. But i've gotten used to it and i do like it, i plasti dipped it because i didn't want the metal to heat up from the sun :D

BTW i was wonder does anyone know what the part circled is?

Image

It's from a wrx...also in the Evo 8 & 9...[/img]
