Hey guys,
I want climate control in my RX. Is this even possible without an MMCS? Of course, some new knobs and trim may be needed, but how does it actually work is the question.
I'm hoping its just a latent wiring loom, like a a lot of other things in there...

Climate Control upgrade???
For every "Drive Safely" sign, shouldn't there be a "Resume Normal Driving" sign?

It will need to plug into the ECU CANBUS. It needs to tell the engine to idle up so a decent a/c load is provided during idle. Also the a/c needs to be shut down for airbag deployment. Also needs to detect refrigerant leakage.
Here is a block diagram of all the wiring connections for the A/C ECU box that sits under the globe box.
Oddly not indicated on this diagram, the ambient outside temp sensor needs to come into this some where. Maybe it's via the ETACS ECU.

I've done all the research for this recently, compared wiring diagrams and what not. I knew somebody would ask about it eventually HAHA
It is not impossible to do but not worth the coin to do so.
You need the new control dial set (~$500 from Mitsubishi), new A/C ECU, internal temp sensor and wiring and internal photo sensor and wiring.
Then you have to get the ETACS reflashed to recognise the new A/C ECU and communicate with it.
Don't bother in other works haha
